Following the conclusion of the European Union project ESSEDRA, in which we served as the Turkish partner, our efforts to preserve local culinary heritage, support small-scale producers, and document and compile into a database products that possess unique characteristics due to various factors—such as our country’s geography and production methods— have been continued through the Anatolian Flavors Inventory, a project launched by our association as a continuation of ESSEDRA. Under the ALE initiative, 71 products from across Turkey—ranging from Karabaşotu Jam from İzmir to Beyşehir Tarhana from Konya—have been thoroughly documented and recorded in full detail.
