DATE March 13, 2016 VENUE 1924 Istanbul (Rejans) Starting with the founder of our country, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, this famous Russian restaurant—known for hosting many famous figures of the era, from Greta Garbo to Agatha Christie—has been a place where White Russians, who fled the Russian Revolution and sought refuge in Istanbul, have introduced us to their own cuisine ever since it opened. Lemon vodka, the quintessentially Russian beet soup and piroshki, beef stroganoff, and Kievsky—these dishes have become part of our lives thanks to this restaurant… With the menu prepared by Chef Mike Norman, who carries on this valuable culinary tradition under the name “1924 Istanbul,” we had the opportunity to savor these classic flavors in their most authentic forms.
