Özyeğin University

The Friends of the Kitchen Association donated books to the Özyeğin University Library. Özyeğin University, which trains young people in the field of gastronomy through its Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts—which has an exclusive partnership with Le Cordon Bleu International——which, through its Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts—which holds an exclusive partnership with Le Cordon Bleu International—trains young people equipped for the field of gastronomy—the library team, through the meticulous work of the collections department managers, has cataloged and registered approximately 250 books. These include both domestic and foreign works published from the 1970s to the present. In addition to books covering the recipes and cuisines of various regions and communities across Anatolia, the collection—which also includes studies on culinary culture and the book “Edible Herbs of Our Country,” published by the Friends of the Kitchen Association—has taken its place on the shelves and is now available for students to use. Thanks to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system, students from other universities will also be able to request books from this collection and use them as reference materials to deepen their cultural knowledge. In recognition of our association’s donation, our Board Chair Esin Sungur and Board Members Oya Emerk and Saliha Kayaş were briefed on the book cataloging and usage process. Following this, they were hosted at L’Atelier Bleu Restaurant—where students take on roles in the kitchen and front-of-house—by—where students are involved in kitchen and service duties—as well as to the Associate Dean of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Prof. Özge Samancı, Le Cordon Bleu Director Defne Ertan Tüysüzoğlu, and the entire Özyeğin Library team for their efforts.”
