Minority Cuisine Friendship Dinner

DATE December 15, 2015 VENUE Moda Deniz Club Istanbul cuisine is one of the most unique examples of an East-West fusion in culinary culture... It has emerged from a blend of classic Turkish flavors and the traditional cultures of minority groups—such as the Greek, Armenian, and Jewish communities—inherited from the Ottoman era. Istanbul’s dining tables, a vibrant mosaic shaped by the fusion of minority cultures from the Byzantine era to the present day, are a colorful tapestry. Of course, it is impossible to showcase all these magnificent cuisines—each with its own distinct richness—in a single evening’s event. On this special night, we enjoyed a delightful experience in a warm, friendly atmosphere, featuring tastings from our minority cuisines, glimpses of their music, and cultural conversations. Organized with the support of Toros Alcan, Representative of the Minority Foundations, and former Representative Laki Vingas, the evening marked the first and introductory presentation of our “Minority Cuisines” series of friendly dinners.
